Just a couple of kids tryin' to make it on their own.

More progress!

Thanks largely to the contributions of a very dedicated supporter of WiiBuddy, who goes by “Nate Eight”, we actually now have some basic functionality working with WiiBuddy on Windows.

The problems at hand now aren’t terribly intimidating, so long as Stew and I can keep up the momentum and get together and do some more work in the near future. Obviously, as things get better, I’ll be sure to post about it here.

Great news! I can’t wait to test whether Balance Board can act as a reliable FPS controller for VR!

Great stuff. I’m excited about Balance Board support for Windows too.

I’m very interested in the PC-Version, too, having lots of trouble with the WiiBalanceWalker Driver. Great work so far!

Is there a download link for the beta we can test? I’m really curious how well this works. Thanks!

Hi Guys, thanks for all your hard work. How far along are you on the update for the PC? I am a researcher working with children with Autism and we could use your plug-in. We are willing to be an early test case too if that works too

hi…. i want to use wiibuddy(windows) for my simulation… can you tell me about release time please?

I’m sorry. I missed this comment and just noticed it. I can’t make any promises for Wiibuddy for Windows. There’s a chance we may start working on it again after Unity 5 comes out, but even then it would likely take a while to finish. Hopefully you can find something that suits what you need sooner than that.

Any update on the status of the WiiBuddy for Windows? I accidentally just downloaded the plugin was surprised that it works for the most part – however I am getting an error from the demo. At which point I discovered that you still only have a Mac build.

    Here is the error.

    DllNotFoundException: WiiBuddy
    Wii.WakeUp () (at Assets/Plugins/Wii.cs:2530)
    Wii.GetRemoteCount () (at Assets/Plugins/Wii.cs:59)
    (wrapper dynamic-method) Wii.Wii$GetRemoteCount$ (object,object[])
    Boo.Lang.Runtime.RuntimeServices.Invoke (object,string,object[])
    UnityScript.Lang.UnityRuntimeServices.Invoke (object,string,object[],System.Type)
    demonstration.OnGUI () (at Assets/Demo Scene/demonstration.js:139)

    Thanks.

Oh no! I’m sorry. We have been tossing around the notion of taking another shot at WiiBuddy for Windows after Unity 5 comes out, since that will help with some compatibility issues in Unity’s guts. I can’t make any promises though. I hope you have access to some Mac computers to work on your project(s).
