WiiBuddy for Windows!!
December 4, 2015
Posted by on I’m posting this to inform you all that I have just submitted an update to WiiBuddy on the asset store. As of the time of this posting, it is pending approval. This update contains two things.
- WiiBuddy is now available for Windows development. The bad news that comes with this however is that it still doesn’t work with (Nintento RVL-CNT-01-TR) remotes. These are newer remotes that come with motion plus built into them and function slightly different on the inside (basic remotes, older motion plus remotes, and balance boards should all work fine). Stew and I understand exactly how these TR remotes need to be treated differently, but unfortunately, doing so on Windows is proving much more difficult than on OSX. We hope to be able to provide another update in due time to fix this.
- OSX 11 (El Capitán) connectivity issues have been remedied. Since, El Capitán was giving us so much connectivity issues, I completely changed the connection method so that it actually pairs the remote when making the connection instead of just maintaining an unpaired connection. This will only happen when you’re operating on El Capitán and it may provide the slightly inconvenient side effect of giving you dumb pop-ups afterwards whenever you press a button on the wiimote. The connectivity still isn’t perfect but I think it’s the best we can do.
This update was very difficult for both Stew and I to work on since we both have numerous other commitments and live on different sides of the country now. You’ve all been very supportive and we’re glad we could finally get this to you. If you encounter any bugs at all, please don’t hesitate to contact us at bitlegit@gmail.com .
